2-dimensional Topological Quantum Field Theory
During my second semester at ETH Zürich I completed a project about Topological Quantum Field Theory supervised by the late Prof. Will J. Merry. The full script can be found right here.
TQFT can be pictured as the topological skeleton – literally – of Quantum Field Theory. One can then additional structure, say a conformal or spin structure, to formulate different flavours of field theory like conformal field theory or spin TQFT.
A great introduction that illuminates both the mathematical and physical side of TQFTs is this publication by Michael F. Atiyah. For further sources and a realiably insightful and challenging take from the point of category theory, I recommend this ncatlab page on TQFT.
